Ravinder Dhesi, a Fijian national and the general manager of JW Marriott Gold Coast, has expressed a desire to return to Fiji if the opportunity arises. Celebrating his 25th anniversary with the Marriott Group this month, Dhesi reflected on his career journey after graduating with a Bachelor of Business degree in Sydney.
He recalled his first position as a graduate accountant at Sheraton Fiji in 1993, a place that holds significant meaning for him. Recently visiting the resort, Dhesi felt nostalgic as former colleagues recognized him, sharing affectionate greetings that highlighted his local roots and successful career in hospitality.
Dhesi hopes his story serves as inspiration for fellow Fijians. He noted his intention to continue working within the Marriott chain, emphasizing the large portfolio of Marriott hotels in Fiji. Should the chance to return to his homeland arise, he would eagerly consider it, motivated by his commitment to nurture local talent and support Fijians in the hospitality industry.
