Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a significant event held at the RB Convention Centre in Lami. This occasion not only marked four decades of the company’s journey but also paid tribute to its shareholders and the pioneering individuals who played a crucial role in establishing FHL to enhance the participation of iTaukei in the corporate landscape.

The celebration followed the Group’s Annual General Meeting for 2024, with Group CEO Jaoji Koroi emphasizing the event as a moment for shareholders to reflect on the company’s rich history and honor those instrumental in FHL’s formation, including the Great Council of Chiefs and the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, alongside former managing director Laisenia Qarase.

During the event, Mr. Koroi shared some of FHL’s significant achievements during the 2024 financial year. He reported that the Group’s total assets have surpassed $700 million, net assets are valued at $323 million, and profits hit a record $70 million, with over $130 million already distributed to shareholders in dividends. He noted that early shareholders are now enjoying substantial returns on their investments.

Despite these achievements, Mr. Koroi acknowledged the ongoing challenge of expanding beyond their current shareholder base and empowering iTaukei resource owners through new strategies aimed at fostering inclusive growth.

This anniversary celebration highlights not only the financial success of FHL but also its commitment to community engagement and empowerment, demonstrating the potential for further developments that can positively impact iTaukei communities and attract broader participation in the corporate sector.

Overall, FHL’s milestone serves as a beacon of growth and opportunity, encouraging both legacy shareholders and new investors to actively participate in shaping the future of the company and the communities it serves.
