Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) recently celebrated its 40th anniversary at a special event held at the RB Convention Centre in Lami. This significant milestone honored the company’s rich history and the contributions of its valued shareholders, along with key figures who played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of FHL, including the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara and former managing director Laisenia Qarase.

The celebration followed the Group’s Annual General Meeting for 2024, where Group CEO Jaoji Koroi reflected on four decades of achievements. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging those who laid the groundwork for FHL’s success, which was designed to enhance the involvement of iTaukei people in the corporate sector.

Koroi shared impressive figures from the 2024 financial year, noting that total assets have surpassed $700 million, with net assets valued at $323 million and a record profit of $70 million. To date, FHL has distributed over $130 million to its shareholders in dividends, illustrating the fruitful investments made by those who have been with the company since its inception.

While celebrating these accomplishments, Koroi pointed out the ongoing challenge to expand beyond the current shareholder base and empower the iTaukei resource owners through new strategies that the company intends to implement.

This celebration not only marks a significant milestone for FHL but also signals a commitment to the future, reinforcing the focus on inclusivity and the empowerment of local communities. As the company moves forward, its dedication to fostering greater participation from the iTaukei community represents a hopeful and positive path for continued growth and development.
