Fijian Fans Rally for Victory in Tonga Showdown!

A large group of Fijian supporters, dressed in blue and white jerseys, rallied behind the FIJI Water Flying Fijians at the Teufaiva Stadium in Tonga yesterday. The atmosphere was charged as the Tonga team scored three tries in the first half, prompting many fans to chant “Toso Viti Toso” to uplift their team for the second half.

The match kicked off at 4 PM, and numerous fans left work early to cheer for their national team in this clash between two prominent Pacific nations. Jonetani Vula, a local school teacher, arrived at the stadium with his wife by 3 PM, noting that this was a game his family had eagerly anticipated.

“Many Fijian families here have been sharing designs of the Fijian jerseys, and quite a few picked theirs up just last night. Some even traveled from far outside of Nuku’alofa to support the team today,” he shared. “We are thrilled that the boys won tonight, and we wish them all the success in their upcoming game in Japan.”

After the victory over Tonga, fans celebrated by singing happy birthday and extending well wishes to team captain Tevita Ikanivere, presenting him with a cake. Ikanivere expressed his heartfelt thanks to the fans for their unwavering support, which he credited for boosting the team’s spirit and contributing to their success.
