With the conclusion of the Fijian Drua’s tournament season, Head Coach Glen Jackson has announced plans for a pre-season camp and a year-end event in Kadavu. The team is set to leave for Vunisea on Monday, embarking on a five-day trip that includes a community outreach initiative alongside a rigorous training schedule.
“We’re extremely excited to head to Kadavu next week,” Jackson expressed. He highlighted the significance of the trip, noting that many players have connections to the island. “Mr. Naca (Cawanibuka) has put in a lot of effort there, and this visit will be a wonderful opportunity for the community.”
The Fijian Drua will depart Monday night and return to Viti Levu on Friday, culminating in a presentation of the traditional *i-tatau* at the State House on Monday.
This initiative not only strengthens the team’s roots within the community but also emphasizes their commitment to engaging with local supporters, fostering goodwill, and promoting rugby in the region.
In a positive light, this trip can be seen as a great opportunity for the Fijian Drua to build team cohesion and enhance their connection with their fans, setting a promising tone for the upcoming season. The focus on community outreach illustrates their dedication to making a positive impact off the field as well.
