The 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition has unveiled an exciting schedule that includes two home matches for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women. Their performance could lead to hosting a semi-final in Fiji if they secure a top two finish in the regular season. This season will mark a milestone with the introduction of the inaugural Super Rugby Champions final, featuring a match-up between the winners of Super Rugby W and New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki.
The Drua will kick off their home games by hosting the Reds on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day. This match, part of a thrilling double header at Churchill Park in Lautoka, will start at 1:05 PM, followed by the Drua Men facing off against the Chiefs at 3:30 PM. Following that, on March 15, the Drua Women will compete against the formidable Brumbies Women in a standalone match at 3:30 PM.
The season opener for the Fijian Drua Women will take place against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on February 28. They will then return to Fiji for their encounters with the Reds and Brumbies, before concluding their regular season away at the Western Force on March 23.
The semi-finals of Super Rugby W are scheduled for the weekend of April 5, with the top-ranked teams hosting, while the Grand Final will take place on April 12. On April 17, the crossover final will see the champions of Super Rugby Women’s face off against the Super Rugby Aupiki champions.
Mark Evans, the Fijian Drua chief executive officer, shared that the Drua Women have claimed the Super Rugby Women titles for the past two years (2022 and 2023) and were runners-up in 2024. He expressed ambition for the team to return to championship status in 2025, acknowledging the challenges ahead.
Evans mentioned that the team is currently in a rebuilding phase, focusing on enhancing player depth and capabilities under the guidance of a new interim head coach. Significant investments have been made in facilities to ensure that the Drua Women are well-prepared as their pre-season begins in early December.
