The 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition has announced the Fijian Drua Women will host two matches, marking an exciting season ahead for the team. Aiming for a top-two finish in the regular season could lead to a semi-final being held in Fiji, adding to the significance of their home games.

In a historic development, the 2025 season will introduce the inaugural Super Rugby Champions final, where the champions of Super Rugby W will face the winners of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki. The Drua’s action kicks off against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on February 28, followed by home games against the Reds on March 8—International Women’s Day—and the Brumbies on March 15, both at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Mark Evans, the CEO of the Fijian Drua, expressed high aspirations, stating their determination to reclaim the championship title after previous wins in 2022 and 2023 and a runner-up finish in 2024. The team is currently in a rebuilding phase with a new interim head coach aiming to strengthen their squad. Evans highlighted significant investments made in facilities during the off-season to ensure that the Drua Women are well-prepared for the upcoming season.

Hosting two matches in Fiji not only brings excitement for the fans but also emphasizes the importance of community support, especially on International Women’s Day, where special experiences are planned for attendees.

This season promises to be a pivotal moment for both the Drua Women and the community, showcasing talent and strengthening the bond between the team and its supporters.

Overall, the Drua’s commitment to investing in their women’s program reflects a broader dedication to fostering sports in the region, presenting a hopeful outlook for the growth of women’s rugby in Fiji.
