The upcoming 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition has shared exciting news as the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women are set to host two home matches. Aiming for a top two finish in the regular season could lead the Drua Women to host a semifinal match in Fiji, adding more anticipation for their fans.

This season marks a significant milestone with the introduction of the inaugural Super Rugby Champions final, where the champions of Super Rugby W will compete against the winners of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki.

The Drua Women’s first home match is scheduled for March 8—International Women’s Day—against the Reds at Lautoka’s Churchill Park, kicking off at 1:05 PM, followed by a match featuring the Drua Men against the Chiefs later that day. The following week, on March 15, they will face a competitive Brumbies Women’s team in a standalone match at 3:30 PM.

Their season commences with a challenging match against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on February 28, before returning home for the two highlighted matches. The Drua will conclude their regular season with an away game against the Western Force in Perth on March 23.

The semi-finals are scheduled for the weekend of April 5, where the top two ranked teams will host, and the Grand Final will occur on April 12. A crossover final between the champions of Super Rugby Women’s and Super Rugby Aupiki will be held on April 17.

Mark Evans, the chief executive officer of the Fijian Drua, expressed ambitions to reclaim the winner’s podium in 2025, following victories in 2022 and 2023 and a runner-up finish in 2024. He acknowledged the challenges ahead as the team is currently rebuilding, including new coaching and a push for greater player depth.

Significant investments have also been made to enhance facilities for the Drua Women, ensuring they return to pre-season in early December with excellent support and preparation for the competition ahead.

Evans remarked that hosting two matches in Fiji provides a wonderful opportunity for local fans to support their teams, while the special coincidence of International Women’s Day is expected to elevate the experience further, with plans underway to make this occasion memorable.

This positive momentum for the Fijian Drua Women not only highlights a commitment to excellence on the field but also emphasizes the importance of community and support for women’s sports. As they prepare for the season, fans can look forward to an exciting array of matches that celebrate talent and resilience in rugby.
