Two promising national under-20 representatives, Breyton Legge and John Muller, received thrilling news as they have signed on to join the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua development program for the upcoming 2025 season.
Legge, a talented loosehead prop, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to represent his country in the Super Rugby competition, which has been a dream of his for many years. “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the Super Rugby competition,” Legge stated.
With nine appearances for the Fiji Under-20 team and recent involvement in the U20 World Rugby Championship, Legge has showcased his skills and dedication to the sport.
Muller, another promising athlete, has gained significant experience by representing Fiji in the U20 World Cup and played a pivotal role in the Fiji Warriors’ success in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. “It is a dream come true, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team,” Muller said.
Ifereimi Rawaqa, the Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach, acknowledged their advancement from the Fiji Rugby High-Performance Unit program to the Drua Development team. Rawaqa highlighted Legge’s skills and adaptability, as well as Muller’s diligent work ethic and aggressive playing style, emphasizing their potential for continued development and success within the Drua program.
In recent years, several development players, including Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu, have been afforded the chance to secure contracts in the competitive Super Rugby Pacific league.
