Fijian Drua Welcomes Rising Rugby Stars to Development Program

The Fijian Drua has officially announced the addition of national under-20 representatives Breyton Legge and John Muller to the club’s Development programme for the 2025 season. This programme serves as a vital pathway to the main Super Rugby Pacific team.

Legge, a loosehead prop, has made nine appearances for the Fiji Under-20 team since 2022, recently participating in the U20 World Rugby Championship held in South Africa. He expressed his excitement, stating, “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and competing in the Super Rugby competition.”

Muller also showcased his talent at the U20 World Cup in 2021 and was part of the Fiji Warriors squad that claimed the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. He captained the Northland rugby team this season in the local provincial competition. Muller shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It is a dream come true and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team.”

Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa commented on the newcomers, noting that both players were part of Fiji Rugby’s High-Performance Unit programme and their progression into Drua Development is promising. “They bring good depth into our props,” he added.

Rawaqa praised Legge as a skilled player and quick learner, while highlighting Muller’s hard work and aggressive play both offensively and defensively. He believes that with further professional development through Drua, both players will advance to the next level.

In the past two years, several Development players have been promoted to Super Rugby Pacific contracts, including Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu.
