Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) has become a new sponsor of the Fijian Drua through its “Sun Bell” brand. This partnership, set for three years, will see the launch of the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament, a one-day event that allows top provincial players in Fiji to compete against members of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.
The tournament will feature two Drua Men’s teams alongside six provincial teams and aims to become an annual fixture in the rugby calendar. Mark Evans, CEO of the Fijian Drua, expressed excitement about welcoming PAFCO as a sponsor, highlighting the company’s longstanding reputation and contribution to Fiji’s economy. He noted that the partnership not only aims to boost the visibility of the Sun Bell brand but also to foster community engagement, particularly in Ovalau, where PAFCO has a strong presence.
PAFCO’s CEO, Saiyad Raiyum, shared his pride in collaborating with the Fijian Drua, noting the company’s deep roots in Fiji’s history and its significance within the national heritage. He emphasized their commitment to supporting the teams in the Super Rugby Pacific competition while providing nutritious meal options through their quality canned products made from pure tuna.
This sponsorship is a significant step towards strengthening community ties and promoting the sport of rugby in Fiji, ultimately enhancing the prospects of local talent while cementing PAFCO’s continued legacy in the nation.
In summary, the collaboration between PAFCO and the Fijian Drua represents a promising venture for both organizations, fostering local talent and nutrition while enhancing the country’s rugby landscape. It’s a celebration of Fijian culture and community spirit that will hopefully inspire future partnerships in the sports arena.
