Fijian Drua Welcomes New Talent for 2025 Season

The Fijian Drua has officially signed national under-20 representatives Breyton Legge and John Muller for its Development program in preparation for the 2025 season. This program serves as a vital pathway for players aspiring to join the main Super Rugby Pacific squad.

Breyton Legge, a loosehead prop, has participated in nine matches for the Fiji Under 20 team since 2022 and recently showcased his skills at the U20 World Rugby Championship in South Africa. Expressing his enthusiasm, Legge remarked, “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the Super Rugby competition.”

John Muller also made an impact at the U20 World Cup in 2021 and played a crucial role in the Fiji Warriors’ victory in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. He served as the captain for the Northland rugby team during the current local provincial competition. Muller shared his excitement, stating, “It is a dream come true, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team.”

Ifereimi Rawaqa, the Development and Skills Coach for Fijian Drua, commented on the addition of the two players, highlighting their backgrounds in the Fiji Rugby’s High-Performance Unit program. He expressed confidence in their ability to enhance the depth of the prop position within the team. Rawaqa noted, “Legge is a skilled player and quick learner. Muller is a hardworking player and brings aggression in both attack and defense. With further professional development through Drua, I know the boys will progress to the next level.”

Recent players promoted from the Development program to earn Super Rugby Pacific contracts over the last two years include Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu.
