The Fijian Drua has officially introduced Josefa Vanuaca as the new Head of Sales, a position created by merging previously distinct roles of Ticketing and Hospitality & Sponsorship Servicing. This change comes as the club aims to improve their operational efficiency and revenue generation.
Vanuaca arrives with over 15 years of experience in business development, finance, and project management. He brings significant academic credentials, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting and Information Systems, alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change. Prior to joining the Drua, Vanuaca worked with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Shane Hussein, the General Manager of Commercial for the Fijian Drua, expressed enthusiasm for Vanuaca’s appointment, remarking on the club’s ongoing growth and commitment to enhancing the experience for fans and corporate clients. He emphasized that Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the Head of Marketing and Fan Experience, to ensure seamless accessibility to Drua events. Hussein also acknowledged the contributions of the previous role holders, Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who have embarked on new ventures.
Vanuaca shared his excitement about joining the Fijian Drua, highlighting how significant Super Rugby Pacific has been throughout his life. He described his appointment as a dream fulfilled, which brings joy to his family.
Tickets and hospitality packages for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s home games in the forthcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season are currently available for purchase. The team is set to kick off their season against the Brumbies on February 15 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
