The Fijian Drua has announced the appointment of Josefa Vanuaca as the Club’s Head of Sales, a newly created role that merges the previously distinct areas of Ticketing, Hospitality, and Sponsorship Servicing. This significant shift comes after the departure of former employees Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who have moved on to other endeavors.
With over 15 years of experience in business development, finance, and project management, Vanuaca is well-equipped for his new position. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Information Systems, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change. Prior to joining the Fijian Drua, Vanuaca worked at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Shane Hussein, the General Manager of Commercial at the Fijian Drua, expressed his enthusiasm for Vanuaca’s arrival, especially during a time of growth for the club. Hussein highlighted the focus on enhancing ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship services while ensuring that fans remain a top priority. Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the Head of Marketing and Fan Experience, to enhance accessibility for fans and corporate clients during Drua events.
Reflecting on his appointment, Vanuaca expressed his pride and joy in joining the Fijian Drua, a team that has played a significant role in his life growing up. He noted that this opportunity is particularly meaningful for his family, marking a dream come true for him.
Tickets and hospitality packages for the upcoming home games of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season are already available for purchase. The team’s first match is scheduled against the Brumbies on February 15 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
This new appointment brings hope and excitement to the Fijian Drua, signaling a bright future as they seek to deepen engagement with their supporters while expanding their commercial reach. As the team gears up for the new season, fans can look forward to enhanced experiences and a strong sense of community surrounding the club.
