The Fijian Drua has appointed Josaia Moimoi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), marking an important step for the organization. Hailing from Vanuabalavu in Lau, Moimoi brings over a decade of experience in financial services to the role.
He takes over from former CFO Shafina Dean, who has relocated to New Zealand to further her education. The selection of Moimoi followed a thorough recruitment process that included both international and local candidates, where he demonstrated exceptional capabilities in the financial domain.
“With a rich background in finance, Moimoi is poised to make significant contributions to our organization. We express our gratitude to Shafina Dean for her commendable work during her tenure,” said a representative of the Fijian Drua.
Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management, as well as qualifications in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii. Before joining the Drua, he worked as a Financial Management Specialist at the U.S. Embassy.
This leadership change signifies a positive direction for the Fijian Drua, as they continue to strengthen their financial position and support the growth of professional sports in the region. The organization is fortunate to have a qualified financial expert like Moimoi step into this crucial role, ensuring stability and strategic financial planning moving forward.
