The Fijian Drua has officially welcomed Josaia Moimoi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hailing from Vanuabalavu in Lau, Moimoi brings more than a decade of financial services experience to the team. He takes over the responsibilities from Shafina Dean, the former CFO, who has relocated to New Zealand to further her education.
Josaia Moimoi’s selection followed a rigorous recruitment process that attracted both local and international candidates, showcasing his impressive qualifications and experience in the financial sector. “Moimoi comes with a wealth of experience in the financial field. He placed strongly after an extensive recruitment process in a field of international and local applicants. As we welcome him to the dynamic world of professional sport, we also thank our outgoing CFO Shafina Dean, who did such a great job during her time at the Drua,” stated an official from the Fijian Drua.
Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management, as well as qualifications in Organisational Behaviour from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii. Prior to this role, he served as the Financial Management Specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America.
This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the Fijian Drua, as Moimoi’s extensive background in finance is expected to contribute positively to the organization. His leadership could help strengthen the team’s financial strategies and support its long-term goals, providing a solid foundation for future successes in the competitive world of professional sports.
