Fijian Drua Welcomes New CFO Amid Leadership Change

The Fijian Drua has appointed Josaia Moimoi as their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing a wealth of financial expertise to the organization. Moimoi, originally from Vanuabalavu in Lau, possesses over a decade of experience in the financial services sector.

He takes over the role from Shafina Dean, who has moved to New Zealand to further her studies. The organization expressed their gratitude towards Dean for her valuable contributions during her tenure.

“Moimoi comes with a wealth of experience in the financial field. He placed strongly after an extensive recruitment process in a field of international and local applicants. As we welcome him to the dynamic world of professional sport, we also thank our outgoing CFO Shafina Dean, who did such a great job during her time at the Drua,” a spokesperson stated.

Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management, along with qualifications in Organizational Behaviour from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii. Prior to joining the Fijian Drua, he served as a Financial Management Specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America.

This appointment marks a positive step for the Fijian Drua, as Moimoi’s extensive background in finance is expected to contribute significantly to the team’s financial strategies and overall success. His experience in a high-profile setting, like the US Embassy, adds to the optimism surrounding his capabilities in this new role.
