The Fijian Drua has announced the appointment of Josaia Moimoi as the club’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This decision was confirmed by Drua CEO Mark Evans, who highlighted Moimoi’s extensive financial experience. After a thorough recruitment process that attracted both international and local candidates, Moimoi emerged as the top choice.
Moimoi, originally from Vanuabalavu in Lau, expressed his excitement over the new role, describing it as a blessing from God. He emphasized his commitment to leveraging financial strategies that positively influence the economy and enhance the lives of individuals. Moimoi views rugby not just as a sport but as a powerful catalyst for hope, aspiration, and pride within the Fijian community. He acknowledged the significant responsibility that comes with his position and conveyed his eagerness to collaborate with Evans and the broader Drua team to elevate the club’s accomplishments.
With over ten years of experience in financial services, Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management, as well as qualifications in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii. Before joining the Drua, he worked as a Financial Management Specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America.
Moimoi takes over the role from Shafina Dean, who has relocated to New Zealand to further her education. This leadership transition marks a new chapter for the Drua as they aim for continued growth and success in the professional sports arena.
