The Fijian Drua has appointed Josaia Moimoi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Moimoi takes over the position from Shafina Dean, who has relocated to New Zealand to further her education.
Hailing from Vanuabalavu in Lau, Moimoi brings over a decade of experience in the financial sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management and has additional qualifications in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii. Prior to joining the Drua, Moimoi served as a Financial Management Specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America.
Mark Evans, CEO of the Fijian Drua, expressed confidence in Moimoi’s capabilities, emphasizing that he stood out among a competitive pool of international and local applicants during the recruitment process. Evans also acknowledged the significant contributions made by outgoing CFO Shafina Dean.
Moimoi expressed gratitude for the opportunity and shared his enthusiasm for making a positive economic impact in his new role. He reflected on his first week with the Drua, highlighting how the job allows him to influence individuals and acknowledge rugby as a source of hope and pride for the Fijian people.
