The Fijian Drua has named Josaia Moimoi as the club’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). CEO Mark Evans expressed confidence in Moimoi’s extensive financial background, highlighting his strong performance throughout a rigorous recruitment process that included both local and international candidates.
Evans took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of the previous CFO, Shafina Dea, who is pursuing further education in New Zealand. Moimoi, originally from Vanuabalavu in Lau, views the appointment as a divine blessing and is eager to make a positive impact on the economy through his work at the Drua. He noted that the role allows him to influence individuals’ lives, contributing to the community’s sense of hope, aspiration, and pride through rugby.
With over a decade of experience in financial services, Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management, along with a qualification in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University in Hawaii. He previously served as a Financial Management Specialist at the U.S. Embassy and is set to bring a wealth of experience to the rugby club.
