The 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition schedule has been unveiled, featuring the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua W set to host two exciting matches in Fiji. Fans will have the opportunity to support their team as they seek to regain their championship status.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Fijian Drua W is slated to play against the Reds on March 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka, with the match kicking off at 1:05 PM. This event will be part of a doubleheader, with the men’s team facing off against the Chiefs at 3:30 PM.

A week later, the Drua W will challenge the Brumbies W on March 15, also at Churchill Park. This standalone match will commence at 3:30 PM, promising to be another thrilling Saturday afternoon for local supporters.

The Fijian Drua W will kick off their 2025 season against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on February 28. Following their two home matches, they will wrap up the regular season with an away game against the Western Force at HBF Park in Perth on March 23.

The top two teams at the end of the regular season will host semi-finals on the weekend of April 5, leading up to the grand final set for April 12. A significant highlight of the season will be the inaugural Super Rugby champions final on April 17, where the winner of Super Rugby W will face the champion of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans reflected on the team’s impressive history, citing victories in the Super Rugby W titles of 2022 and 2023, along with a runner-up finish in 2024. He emphasized that the 2025 season would focus on rebuilding under a new interim head coach, Ifereimi Rawaqa, who is dedicated to strengthening the team’s depth and player pool.

Evans noted, “We aim to return to the winner’s podium in 2025, though we acknowledge that it will not be an easy path. We have made significant investments in facilities during the off-season to ensure our players are well-prepared for the season ahead.”

The inclusion of matches on International Women’s Day is particularly exciting for Evans, who expressed enthusiasm about creating a memorable experience for fans.

This season holds not only the promise of competitive play but also a platform to celebrate women’s rugby and inspire future generations in Fiji. The community’s support is expected to be a strong driving force as the Fijian Drua W embarks on its journey in 2025.
