Mark Evans, the Chief Executive Officer of the Fijian Drua, has announced his decision to resign from his position at the end of December 2025, marking the completion of a three-year term at the helm of the franchise. Board Chairman Brent Impey extended gratitude to Evans, highlighting his instrumental role in bolstering the Drua’s stature both as a professional sports entity and within the community.
Evans has been lauded for his contributions, which include significantly growing the fanbase, enhancing the team’s broadcast reach, laying the groundwork for the women’s team, and orchestrating some of the franchise’s most competitive matches in recent years. Although his resignation is personal, Evans will remain engaged with the organization through his role as a trustee of the Drua Foundation, an initiative dedicated to nurturing youth rugby development and community projects in Fiji.
The board is in the final stages of appointing Evans’ successor, with an announcement expected soon. Meanwhile, Evans will continue to serve as CEO until his departure at the end of 2025, ensuring a smooth transition.
The Fijian Drua franchise, with its men’s and women’s teams competing in Super Rugby Pacific and Super W respectively, operates out of Nadi. Despite the leadership change, the Drua is positioned to advance its mission of strengthening rugby in Fiji, fostering new talent, and expanding its influence both locally and internationally. This transition bears the potential for continued growth and success, keeping the spirit of rugby alive and thriving in Fiji.
