Students at Marist Brothers Primary School expressed their joy as they welcomed players from the Fijian Drua rugby team during a special visit this morning.
Among the players present were flanker Motikiai Murray and centres Aisea Tuisese and Joe Tamani, who engaged with the enthusiastic students. The children eagerly took the chance to take photos with their rugby heroes, and every interaction sparked cheers, clapping, and laughter.
The players took time to answer questions from the students, fostering an enjoyable atmosphere. In addition, they signed posters for the kids and even led a brief training session, sharing their skills and experience on the field.
This event not only inspired the young fans but also showed the positive influence athletes can have on the community. Sports personalities often serve as role models for youth, encouraging them to engage in physical activities and develop their skills.
A hopeful aspect of this visit is the cultivation of a connection between athletes and the younger generation, which can encourage the next wave of sports talent in Fiji.
More details will be available in tomorrow’s edition of The Fiji Times.
