The Fijian Drua recently celebrated its third Annual Presentation & Awards Night at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau, honoring its players from the 2025 season. This event marked a significant milestone for the club as it reflected on its evolving journey through the Super Rugby Pacific and Super Rugby Women’s competitions.
A total of 13 awards were presented during this star-studded occasion, recognizing not only the on-field performances but also the dedication and hard work behind the scenes. Among the notable winners, co-captain Frank Lomani received the ANZ Personal Development Award for his outstanding efforts in planning for life after rugby. Lomani has initiated his own transportation company, Masada Riders, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
Tuidraki Samusamuvodre was named the Tanoa Hotels Community Champion for inspiring both youth and adults through community engagement initiatives, emphasizing the Drua’s commitment to its supporters and sponsors. Josivini Naihamu and Ponipate Loganimasi were recognized as the 2025 Encore Women’s and Pepsi Men’s Rookies of the Year, respectively, marking their impressive transitions into Super Rugby.
Furthermore, Alfreda Fisher was awarded the Rooster Chicken Women’s Player of the Year, while Isoa Nasilasila took home the Men’s Player of the Year Award. Fisher’s contribution is particularly remarkable as she has stepped into a leadership role, being named captain of the Vodafone Fijiana team following her outstanding rookie season.
