The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team is poised to make history in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby season by hosting seven prominent rugby teams on home turf for the first time. Among their notable opponents are the Brumbies, the reigning champions the Blues, and former title holders the Crusaders, providing an exciting test for the Drua.
This landmark achievement is underscored by the Chiefs’ return after a two-year hiatus, alongside matches against the Queensland Reds, NSW Waratahs, and Western Force, promising a season filled with thrilling action for local supporters.
In the upcoming 2025 season, the Drua will participate in 14 regular-season matches, consisting of 11 round-robin games and three rivalry encounters. The season will feature themed rounds, including the Kids Round in Week 5, the ANZAC Weekend in Round 11, and the Culture Round in Week 3, adding to the excitement.
The competition will conclude with a six-team finals series, with the Drua looking to improve upon their quarterfinal finish from the previous year. They will kick off their 2025 season at home on February 15 against the Brumbies at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. This will be followed by two away matches against the Hurricanes and Waratahs before returning to Fiji to host the Chiefs in Lautoka on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
Key matchups this season include a home game against the Crusaders in Suva on April 5 and a rematch with the Waratahs in Lautoka on April 19, following their dramatic golden-point victory in 2024. The Drua will also compete against Moana Pasifika in the Clash of the Pacific on April 26 before wrapping up their regular season with three consecutive home games, including a Friday night matchup against the Blues in Suva on May 9 and a final home encounter with the Western Force in Lautoka on May 17.
The season will conclude with an away showdown against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on May 31, as the Drua aims to make a significant impact in the competition once again. Fans can look forward to an action-packed season filled with fierce rivalries and exciting rugby as the Drua takes on some of the league’s best teams.
