Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) has officially joined the family of sponsors for the Fijian Drua, introducing its renowned “Sun Bell” brand into the partnership. The organizations have announced a three-year sponsorship agreement, which includes the exciting launch of the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament.
This innovative one-day event is designed to showcase some of Fiji’s finest provincial players competing against members of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. Going forward, this tournament is set to become an annual feature, featuring two teams from the Drua as well as six provincial teams.
Fijian Drua’s CEO, Mark Evans, expressed enthusiasm about the new collaboration, stating, “It is wonderful for us to welcome an organization like the Pacific Fishing Company to our family of sponsors. Children in Fiji grew up reading about PAFCO and their significant contributions to the economy. We are grateful for their support of the Fijian Drua. Their Sun Bell brand is one of the most recognizable in Fiji.”
Evans emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, noting that the Fijian Drua will play a key role in enhancing Sun Bell’s presence in the country. He also acknowledged PAFCO’s integral role in the community, particularly in Ovalau, where they plan to engage with fans and support local initiatives.
Moreover, the partnership will provide valuable nutritional support for both the men’s and women’s teams, incorporating PAFCO’s products into their dietary needs. Pacific Fishing Company’s CEO, Saiyad Raiyum, expressed pride in this partnership, stating, “We are excited to support our teams in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. As a part of Fiji’s heritage and with a brand that has been around for 50 years, we are thrilled to contribute as a nutritional partner for the Drua teams.”
Raiyum underscored the quality of PAFCO’s products, highlighting that their canned goods, made from pure tuna, offer excellent nutrition and contribute positively to the athletes’ preparation for the upcoming seasons.
