“Fijian Drua Revolutionizing Rugby Ticket Sales”

Fijian Drua is aiding Fiji Secondary Schools Southern Zone rugby in establishing an online ticketing platform to boost revenue. Southern Zone president Rusiate Wadali confirmed the platform would be used for the finals at the HFC Bank Stadium on July 20.

Drua’s ticketing and membership manager, Biu Tadranu, noted that their experience over the past two seasons highlighted how this system elevates competitions or events. He expressed excitement about implementing this system for the Southern Zone, emphasizing that they have significant objectives.

The Fijian Drua franchise employed online ticketing during the Super Rugby Pacific season from February to June and launched ticket sales last December. Tadranu explained that the system remains unused for six to seven months, presenting an opportunity to support schools rugby during this period.

Tadranu also mentioned the platform’s use during the NRL pre-season match between Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights at Churchill Park in Lautoka on February 24. He emphasized that anyone with a smartphone and data could buy tickets, potentially increasing the fan base. Thousands of students, family members, and alumni could benefit from the platform, reaching a vast audience both locally and internationally.

Fijians abroad can send money to their families in Fiji to purchase tickets via online apps like M-PAiSA, or buy tickets directly for their relatives with just a button press. The initiative targets events like the Coke Games, Deans, and other Fiji rugby domestic competitions.

Tadranu expressed anticipation about the partnership, believing the committee would notice a notable difference. He underscored the importance of commercial support for any organization or sports team, noting that online ticketing facilitates such progress. He hopes to extend the online ticketing platform to other sports as well.
