FIGURINES featuring former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captains Tevita Ikanivere, Frank Lomani, and Selestino Ravutaumada have made their debut through a collaboration between the club and Mogul Visual Solutions. This innovative initiative marks a significant milestone for player merchandising in Fiji, allowing fans to possess collectibles that serve as a tangible connection to their favorite players.
The range includes various items, from bobbleheads priced at $34 to key tags at $19.50, and for the first time, these athletes will earn royalties from each sale, providing them with a financial benefit beyond their on-field performances. Ikanivere expressed his amazement at the idea of having toys made in his likeness, stating, “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day, toys would be made in my likeness. It’s truly an honor to see our faces represented like this in Fiji.”
Co-captain Frank Lomani praised the initiative, highlighting the significance of introducing this type of merchandising locally, something typically seen in overseas markets. Ritesh Chauhan, director of Mogul Visual Solutions, shared his excitement about the collaboration with the Motibhai Group, stating that the goal was to deepen the connection between fans and players through collectible items like these.
The availability of these unique figurines at stores nationwide offers fans an opportunity to celebrate their support for the Fijian Drua in a new and exciting way. This launch not only promotes local sports culture but also signifies a commitment to empowering athletes by allowing them to monetize their image in a manner akin to practices seen globally.
Collectively, this initiative represents a hopeful development for both the players and fans alike, enriching the local sports landscape and fostering a sense of community as people rally behind their athletes.
