The Fijian Drua has commenced rugby screening sessions for their academy program in collaboration with the Fiji Rugby Union.
The Super Rugby Pacific franchise initiated the process with nominees from various zones in the Western Division this week.
Screening sessions for the other zones across the country are set to begin next week.
Drua will scout Under-16 boys this year and plans to expand the inclusion to Under 14-19 players next year.
Following the initial screenings, 45 players will be chosen to participate in a special combine match on August 28, after which the final 30 will be selected as the inaugural group for the Drua Academy.
Drua Academy players will attend several camps throughout the year at the Drua Headquarters, utilizing the club’s facilities and accessing top-notch coaching and support resources. They will receive specialized training and development programs.
Fijian Drua officials will closely monitor the progress of these players as they compete in various school competitions.
All thirty selected boys will be formally contracted.
