Students at Sabeto Sangam School, situated just outside Nadi, had a memorable experience as they welcomed Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players Inia Tabuavou, Iosefo Namoce, and Kavaia Tagivetaua. This visit allowed the young fans an exciting chance to meet their rugby heroes in person, having previously seen them featured in television advertisements and billboards throughout their communities.

The players visited the school in collaboration with sponsors Punjas as part of their promotional efforts for the brand’s product range. This initiative is among various engagements the team is undertaking as they prepare for their opening match in the 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition, where they will face off against Moana Pasifika in Lautoka this Saturday.

During their visit, the Drua players led the students through a series of rugby exercises, including passing, kicking, and line-outs. They emphasized the significance of teamwork and collaboration, important lessons both on and off the field.

It is noteworthy that while the players participated in this engagement, they will not be part of the match-day 23 for the upcoming game against Moana Pasifika. This kind of interaction not only inspires young athletes but also fosters a sense of community and shared passion for the sport. The team’s commitment to connecting with local youth is a heartening reminder of the positive impact sports can have beyond the field.
