The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua is gearing up for the 30th edition of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition, signaling a momentous milestone for the tournament. Head coach Glen Jackson emphasizes the significance of this year’s competition as it enters its third decade, highlighting the experience gap between the Drua and more established teams.

With only five years in Super Rugby compared to the 30 years most other teams have under their belts, Jackson acknowledges that the Drua is still learning and evolving as a club and as part of the broader rugby landscape. “It’s a massive difference between 30 and five,” Jackson remarks, recognizing the journey ahead in terms of growth and competition.

As the stakes rise, Jackson notes other teams will be motivated to assert themselves in the competition, but he expresses confidence in the squad selected for this season. “We’re very happy and excited by the squad that we’ve selected,” he states, praising the leadership within the team that is ready to showcase their progress and capabilities.

This year, the Fijian Drua is determined to improve upon last season’s performance, where they excelled at home but struggled in away matches. With the new season set to kick off on February 14, the Drua will face off against Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park in Lautoka at 3:30 PM. This game marks not only the beginning of another competitive season but also a key opportunity for the Drua to demonstrate their growth and potential on the rugby field.

As the competition evolves, there is a palpable sense of excitement surrounding the Drua’s journey, promising fans thrilling matches and a showcase of their resilience and ambition in Super Rugby.
