The Fijian Drua has named Josefa Vanuaca as its new Head of Sales, a role created to amalgamate the previously distinct areas of Ticketing, Hospitality, and Sponsorship Servicing. This position comes after the departure of former staff members Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who have sought new opportunities.
Vanuaca has an extensive background with over 15 years in business development, finance, and project management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting and Information Systems, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change. His most recent role was with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Shane Hussein, General Manager of Commercial for Fijian Drua, expressed enthusiasm for Vanuaca’s appointment, stating that the club is in a phase of growth and is looking to diversify its revenue streams while enhancing services for fans and corporate clients. Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the Head of Marketing and Fan Experience, to ensure smooth access to Drua events.
Vanuaca himself shared his excitement about joining the Fijian Drua, calling it a proud moment for his family and a fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
As for the upcoming season, tickets and hospitality packages are already available for home games of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season, with the first match scheduled against the Brumbies on February 15 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
This appointment signifies positive changes within the Fijian Drua, highlighting the club’s dedication to improving fan experience and engagement. With Vanuaca’s wealth of experience, it could mean a bright future for the club’s commercial operations and a strengthened connection with its fan base.
