The Fijian Drua has partnered with the Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) to unveil the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament, scheduled for next month. This event is set to become an annual highlight for the next three years as part of a newly established sponsorship agreement.

Mark Evans, the Chief Executive of Fijian Drua, expressed his excitement about collaborating with a company that has been a prominent name in Fiji’s market for over 50 years. He shared his gratitude for PAFCO’s support and noted the company’s significant contribution to the Fijian economy, echoing sentiments that many in Fiji have grown up recognizing PAFCO’s brand and its importance.

PAFCO’s Chief Executive, Saiyad Raiyum, also conveyed his pride in this new association, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting Fijian Drua rugby and their participation in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. He highlighted the long-standing history of the Sun Bell brand and the added value of becoming a nutritional partner for the Drua teams.

The upcoming tournament promises to be an exciting event, featuring eight teams competing in a one-day match at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on December 13th. Teams include two from the Drua and six provincial representatives, with Pool A comprising Fijian Drua Blue, Yasawa Rugby, Nadroga Rugby, and Lautoka Rugby, while Pool B includes Fijian Drua White, Malolo Rugby, Nadi Rugby, and Ba Rugby. Additionally, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s side will participate with two internal matches during the event.

This tournament not only symbolizes a partnership that reinforces community and sportsmanship but also offers a platform for aspiring athletes, making it a positive development for Fijian rugby.
