Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca has been offered the biggest fight of his career, a September bout against New Zealand cruiserweight champion John Parker.
Parker is the younger brother of Joseph Parker, currently ranked as the fourth-best heavyweight in the world.
Kauyaca and Parker will compete for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title in Hamilton, New Zealand on September 7.
Kauyaca’s trainer and manager Farmaan Ali expressed their excitement about the opportunity and mentioned that they were preparing to get Kauyaca ready.
“Fighting John is a great opportunity for us,” he said. “The Parker brand stands high in the world, so we have to prepare well to match him.”
Promoter Craig Thomson confirmed the September fight and highlighted that it would be a significant opportunity for the Fijian champion.
