Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca showcased his skills in New Zealand at the Fight Night IV event on Saturday. Kauyaca secured a unanimous decision victory over Kiwi boxer, MMA, and kickboxer Remus Leaf in their fourth-round matchup.
This fight marked Kauyaca’s first international appearance as he prepares for a significant challenge against New Zealand cruiserweight champion John Parker next month.
Expressing gratitude on social media, Kauyaca thanked his supporters, saying, “God bless to my old boys and family who came from far away to provide the much-needed support. Your cheer amongst the loud Kiwi crowd echoed in my ears.” He added, “7th September. We are going to dance much better.”
The ‘Hitman’ from Bukuya in Ba is set to face Parker on September 7 for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title in Hamilton. The 30-year-old signed with CTP Boxing Promotions in March and is currently training in New Zealand under the guidance of trainer and manager Farmaan Ali.
