Fijian Boxer Kauyaca Shines in International Debut Ahead of Major Title Fight

Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca showcased his skills in New Zealand at the Fight Night IV event on Saturday. Kauyaca achieved victory against New Zealand’s Remus Leaf, a boxer with MMA and kickboxing experience, winning by unanimous decision after four rounds.

This match marked Kauyaca’s inaugural international fight as he gears up for a significant challenge against New Zealand cruiserweight champion John Parker, scheduled for next month.

In a message on his social media account, the former Queen Victoria School student expressed gratitude to those who traveled to support him. He wrote, “God bless to my old boys and family who came from far away to provide the much-needed support. Your cheer amongst the loud Kiwi crowd echoed in my ears.” He also mentioned, “7th September. We are going to dance much better.”

Known as the ‘Hitman’ from Bukuya in Ba, Kauyaca will face Parker on September 7 for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title in Hamilton. The 30-year-old has been signed by CTP Boxing Promotions since March of this year and is currently training in New Zealand under trainer and manager Farmaan Ali.
