During a workshop held by the Fiji Arts Council, Director Maciusela Raitaukala emphasized the potential of Siuhuu to unlock international markets for Fijian artisans. Raitaukala highlighted the platform’s secure payment features, which utilize trusted banking gateways to mitigate the risk of online scams and provide safer payment options, especially bank transfers, for users.
Moreover, Siuhuu not only facilitates sales but also aims to preserve and promote the unique cultural heritage of Fijian artisans by showcasing their authentic products. This initiative aligns with efforts previously established by the Fiji Arts Council and the iTaukei Trust Fund Board, which have been working to empower local artisans through online market training.
