At a recent workshop organized by the Fiji Arts Council, Director Maciusela Raitaukala spoke about Siuhuu’s potential to unlock global markets for Fijian artisans. The platform allows these craftsmen to offer their creations to customers in prominent markets such as America, Australia, and New Zealand. Raitaukala noted the platform’s robust payment features, which incorporate trusted banking gateways to protect against online scams, thereby ensuring safer payment options, particularly for bank transfers.
Siuhuu goes beyond merely facilitating sales; it aims to safeguard and promote the distinct cultural heritage of Fijian artisans by featuring their authentic products. This initiative is consistent with previous efforts by the Fiji Arts Council and the iTaukei Trust Fund Board, which have provided local artisans with online market training to reinforce the significance of digital marketing skills.
