The Digicel Fiji Young Kulas faced a tough challenge in their second match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, suffering a heavy 0-9 defeat to a dominant Canadian team.

Despite putting forth a spirited effort, reminiscent of their earlier game against Brazil, the skill and strength of the Canadian squad proved too much to handle.

Canada swiftly took control of the match, establishing a commanding 7-0 lead by halftime.

Though the scoreline was daunting, 15-year-old Fijian goalkeeper Aliana Vakaloloma emerged as a standout performer, making several critical saves and demonstrating her potential in adverse conditions.

While the Fijian defense showcased resilience, they struggled to cope with the relentless attacks from the Canadian forwards.

The Fiji Young Kulas are now set to focus on their final group stage match against France.
