Fiji Young Kulas Aim for World Cup Glory Against Brazil

The Fiji Young Kulas are set to make their debut in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup against Brazil tomorrow, with clear objectives in mind.

Assistant Coach Annette Nainima emphasized their desire to excel and to score their inaugural goal in World Cup history. She expressed the significance of this moment for the players and the coaching staff, stating, “It’s a proud moment for us, me and also the players and other officials.”

Nainima reflected on the milestone, highlighting that this is Fiji’s first-ever participation in a World Cup. She noted, “To go back and tell the stories to our families, children, and loved ones is monumental. Many never believed the Fiji women’s team would reach this level, but here we are.”

She also mentioned the support from families back home who are eager to watch the team compete live on television. “We’re just going to give our best,” she added.

Fiji’s first match will be against Brazil at 11 am on Sunday, September 1, followed by a game against Canada at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 4, and a match against France at 10 am on Saturday, September 7, all in Fiji time.
