The Fiji Kulas have kicked off their FIFA Women’s World Cup – Oceania Qualifiers campaign in impressive fashion with a commanding victory. In their opening Group B match held at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba, Fiji triumphed over New Caledonia with a decisive score of 5–0.

From the very beginning, Fiji showcased their dominance on the field, leading 4–0 at halftime. Trina Davis opened the scoring, followed by a brace from Sofi Diyolowai and a goal from Cema Nasau. The second half continued with the Kulas maintaining control, as substitute Sonia Alfred quickly made her mark by scoring the fifth goal, solidifying the team’s overwhelming win.

This strong start not only boosts Fiji’s confidence but also sends a powerful message to their competitors in the group. Looking ahead, the Kulas are set to face Papua New Guinea on Monday at 4 PM in Ba, a team that also enjoyed a successful opening match, defeating Vanuatu 5-nil.
