Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the inaugural Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old from Nadogo brings extensive experience to the position, having formerly captained the Fiji Kulas. Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi’s leadership abilities, noting that her deep understanding of the game makes her a valuable asset to the team. “During training, Tuberi stands out. She possesses leadership qualities and is capable of organizing and communicating effectively with the players, which is crucial in futsal as we need someone to guide the team,” remarked Sam. Tuberi will be supported by former Kulas player and current Rewa Women’s representative Naomi Waqanidrola.
