A woman in her 30s is scheduled to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today following her arrest during a collaborative police operation in Delainavesi. The woman was taken into custody last week during a well-coordinated raid executed by the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Southern Division Taskforce, and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit.

Authorities reported that substances found in the woman’s vehicle tested positive for methamphetamine. This is not her first encounter with the law; she has previously faced charges related to drug offenses. Currently, she is charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, possession of property believed to be proceeds of crime, possession of breaking implements, and unlawful possession of explosives.

The explosives charge arises from the discovery of a non-lethal device typically used by defense forces for disorienting targets. According to the Fiji Police Force, the accused will be officially presented in court today as investigations into the matter remain ongoing.

This situation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in tackling drug-related crimes and ensuring public safety.
