The Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) has named Rusiate Tudravu as the new Commissioner of Police for Fiji. This announcement was made by Commission Chair and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during a press conference held earlier today. Tudravu is set to officially assume his role on February 3, 2025.

This significant appointment not only reflects the confidence the government has in Tudravu’s ability to lead the police force but also signifies a commitment to enhancing law enforcement in Fiji. With fresh leadership, there is hope for positive developments in community safety and police-community relations in the coming years.

This decision comes at a time when the importance of effective and accountable policing is paramount, and the nation’s citizens will be looking for improvements in security and public trust in law enforcement. The community hopes that under Tudravu’s leadership, the police will implement innovative strategies to tackle crime and strengthen public safety.
