Justice Salesi Temo was officially sworn in today as Fiji’s new Chief Justice. The ceremony took place at the State House, where he took both the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Due Execution of Judicial Office in front of President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. Chief Justice Temo has been serving as Acting Chief Justice since January 2023. With over thirty years of judicial experience, he has made significant contributions to the legal system in Fiji. His career began in 1994 when he joined the Judiciary as a Resident Magistrate, eventually serving as Chief Magistrate from 1997 to 2000. He has also held roles as a Puisne Judge of the High Court since June 2009 and has experience within both the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
