Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator of Nadi Town Council, has confirmed that preparations at the park are in their final stages.

Raiwalui stated that this event would introduce a new trend for gatherings in Nadi, expressing excitement about the concert. “This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji,” he remarked, emphasizing the significance of hosting such a large event in Nadi. The organizers will handle all expenses related to the venue, while the council will manage parking, utilizing Koroivolu Park for additional space.

He indicated that the council is keen to collaborate with musicians for future events, indicating a willingness to make this concert an annual celebration.

The concert represents George Veikoso’s return home after 40 years of promoting Pacific music globally. Veikoso described this homecoming as more than just a performance, labeling it a celebration of his heritage, culture, and the music that unites people. “For four decades, I’ve had the honor of carrying the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific to audiences worldwide. Now, it is time to bring that journey full circle, back to where it all began,” he noted, mentioning collaborations with remarkable artists like J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi.

Veikoso is excited to celebrate not only his return but the unifying power of music that inspires and uplifts communities. He conveyed his eagerness to share an unforgettable night with everyone attending.

A representative from Tourism Fiji expressed support for the concert, saying, “We’re thrilled about George Fiji Veikoso’s Home Coming Concert. This event celebrates his incredible talent while also showcasing Fiji’s vibrant musical scene.” They highlighted the positive impact the event could have on the local economy and community by presenting Fiji’s rich culture and hospitality to international visitors.

Tickets for the concert are priced between $79 and $999 for VIP access. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz expressed his enthusiasm, stating he is willing to pay to see the performances by Pojie, Josh, and Maoli, highlighting the artists’ dedication to bringing their talent back to their roots without major sponsorship.

The concert will take place on September 14-15.
