A total of 36 surfers from 12 countries are set to compete in the 2024 Corona Fiji Pro at Cloudbreak on Tavarua Island. The event was officially launched by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the Marriott Fiji Resort in Nadi.
Ratu Wiliame expressed gratitude for the hard work, dedication, and investment that has gone into bringing the World Tour competition to Fiji. He extended thanks to the World Surf League, as well as key figures Andrew Stark and Ryan Crosby, for their confidence in including Fiji in the tour.
Among the competitors, there are 12 women and 24 men, with Fiji’s wildcard participant, Tevita Gukilau. The President highlighted the passion that drives surfing, noting that the upcoming days will showcase remarkable athleticism and grace. He emphasized the joy of riding the waves and the deep connection between humans and nature that the sport represents.
Ratu Wiliame also confirmed that through a three-year partnership with the World Surf League, Cloudbreak will continue to be part of the tour until 2026.
