The Fiji Chinese Trade Show was inaugurated this morning at the Vodafone Arena, highlighting advancements in technology and innovation from 30 prominent Chinese tech firms. The exhibition, lasting for four days, seeks to strengthen trade ties between Fiji and China.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Zhou Jian, emphasized that the event serves as a valuable platform for Chinese businesses to investigate the Fijian market and uncover collaboration opportunities. He noted that the companies involved represent leading brands across various industries, showcasing China’s achievements in technological innovation and industrial enhancement.
Jian expressed hope that the trade show will act as a “bridge of trade,” “bridge of cooperation,” and “bridge of friendship,” facilitating connections between Chinese and Fijian enterprises. He envisioned that participating Chinese exhibitors would eventually become investors in Fiji, helping develop the country into a manufacturing hub in the South Pacific.
Additionally, Yan Chenhui, Deputy Director General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, highlighted the presence of renowned Chinese companies such as China Mobile, Huawei, and Great Wall Motor, which exemplify China’s innovative capacities and technological expertise.
The trade exhibition is organized by Fiji’s Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives & MSMEs, in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and will conclude on Sunday, November 24.
This initiative reflects a significant step forward in enhancing economic relations between the two nations, opening doors for future investment and collaboration.
