AMRUT Indian Whisky enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate following a partnership formed between the Motibhai Group and the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort. This collaboration recently introduced the first single malt whisky at Fiji’s inaugural speakeasy bar, Cellar & Barrel. The bar, which showcases a unique atmosphere for whisky lovers, is supplied by Alba Whisky—Whisky & Spirits Distributors from Australia.
Ian McKinlay, the managing director of Alba Whisky, expressed excitement about the venture, highlighting the successful training sessions conducted for the bar staff at Sheraton. McKinlay commented on their professionalism and eagerness to learn, indicating a promising future for Amrut in Fiji. “This is just the first of a few visits, as we want to ensure we provide ongoing support,” he said.
The hotel manager for Sheraton Fiji, Yvo van Dijk, reiterated pride in the partnership, emphasizing how Amrut has quickly become one of their popular choices at Cellar & Barrel. He mentioned the comprehensive training received, which covered whisky-making processes and distinctions between Indian and traditional Scottish whisky, hoping to improve their team’s competencies for upcoming competitions.
Furthermore, Nitesh Chand, the business development manager for Motibhai Group, expressed enthusiasm about the potential for future events that incorporate Amrut Whisky, as he praised the collaboration with Sheraton Fiji. The events held included an Amrut Whisky Dinner and an Amrut Master Class, showcasing the drinks and providing guests with an immersive experience centered on this innovative spirit.
The introduction of Amrut Indian Whisky comes at a time when Fiji’s hospitality sector shows a growing appreciation for diverse beverage experiences. Initiatives like these highlight the commitment to elevating the food and drink landscape in Fiji, potentially attracting more tourists and elevating the country’s reputation as a destination for quality dining and beverage experiences.
As Fiji continues to embrace unique offerings like the Amrut Indian Whisky, it stands to foster a vibrant atmosphere for whisky lovers, contributing positively to the tourism and hospitality sector on the islands. This partnership illuminates a hopeful path for the future of the industry in Fiji, making it an exciting time for both locals and visitors alike.
