Fiji Weather Woes: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Power Outages Ahead!

Your weather forecast indicates that a trough of low pressure will bring cloud and rain to various regions, spreading across the country later today. A northeast to southerly wind flow is currently present over Fiji. Expect occasional rain that may be heavy at times, with isolated thunderstorms particularly over the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, nearby smaller islands, and the Southern Lau group. Cloudy periods will accompany some showers in southern Bua, eastern Macuata, and Cakaudrove provinces, as well as the Lomaiviti and Central and Northern Lau groups. Other areas will experience cloudy conditions with isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rainfall will likely increase across the remaining areas later in the day, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms and heavy downpours. Localized heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding in low-lying regions. Rain is expected to ease and clear from the west later tonight and continue to improve across the country tomorrow. Winds should remain moderate from the northeast to southerly directions, shifting predominantly to southerly tomorrow. Moderate seas are anticipated, with cool nights beginning tonight in Viti Levu and the southern regions, and extending throughout the country from tomorrow.

– Uciwai in Nadi will see a power outage from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm covering part of Uciwai Road.
